How to Kill a Facebook Spam Bot

A website application knows it has achieved maximum popularity and dazzling success when it begins experiencing withering attacks from viruses. If that’s true, then 7-year-old Facebook has arrived.

According to computer threat experts at Kapersky Labs, there are nearly 340,000 different strains or “signatures” of computer viruses roving wild on the Internet today.

Facebook is now so popular that it too is a breeding ground for all sorts of bugs. Facebook users are reporting widespread attacks including email “bot” SPAM operations, fake alert attacks, phishing gambits, and theft of Facebook account login information and credit card numbers. Many Facebook members may not notice anything amiss and, worse, they may believe they are already using a superior anti-virus product.

Facebook is responding to this growing threat as best it can. In January of 2010, Facebook announced it was initiating a radical security protocol: members may have to show “proof of inoculation” before Facebook will allow them to log in. Facebook Project Manager Jake Brill reports the network may soon block members whose computers have not “scanned clean” recently.

If you suspect you have already been victimized by a Facebook virus, log onto your Facebook account and radically change your password immediately, Brill advises. Then, clean up.

Fortunately, removing a virus that has already taken root on your computer will require only a few tools and an hour or two scanning time. But avoiding repeated infections in the future will require new Facebook, and web-surfing, habits.

What Is great wall of china

The Great Firewall of China
Charles R. SmithFriday, May 17, 2002
Beijing Developing Electronic Chains to Enslave Its People

For nearly a thousand years the Great Wall of China protected the Asian empire from foreign invasion. Today, red China is installing a great “firewall,” hoping to stem the tide of foreign ideas from invading the authoritarian one-party state.

Despite claims to be an open society, China has an extraordinary fear of free information. For example, when President George Bush recently visited the Shanghai economic conference inside China, the communist government removed blocks on the Web sites of several U.S. news services.

Immediately after President Bush left Shanghai, the paranoid red forces quickly re-imposed the Internet blocks. Today, the ordinary Chinese citizen cannot indulge in reading the perverted online views of CNN or the Washington Post.

Chinese authorities have shut down more than 17,000 Internet cafes since April 2001. The Internet cafes were guilty of allowing Chinese citizens to surf without special blocking software required by the central government. In addition, the Chinese authorities ordered another 28,000 cafes to install special monitoring software, allowing the local police to watch the Internet browsing of customers.

The Case of Huang Qi

Chinese information oppression often goes much farther than simply shutting down illegal Internet web browsing. In June 2000, Huang Qi, a computer engineer from Chengdu, was arrested for putting up an online missing persons search website.

Huang ran afoul of the communist authorities when he assisted in the return of seven girls abducted from their homes by a slave trading gang. Unfortunately for Huang, the gangsters had connections of their own inside the hierarchy of the local red government.

The red police confiscated Huang’s computer equipment and shut down his web site. Communist authorities later charged that Huang was guilty of “organizing national separatism, destroying national unity” and “subverting the socialist system.”

“The following night, June 6, I was taken to a detention center, where the authorities assigned a fellow inmate to monitor me,” Huang wrote in a letter recently smuggled out of jail.

“The inmate ordered me to sleep next to the urinal. My head rested only 60 centimeters from the genitals of inmates as they relieved themselves, drenching me in their urine,” wrote Huang.

“Every night, I was put in heavy shackles and tasted urine as my head rested near the urinal. … If I put myself in danger to rescue seven missing girls from the countryside, help over 2,000 families reunite, sell all my belongings to start a missing persons search service to help people and make it possible for thousands of people to air their grievances, please tell me how this can be considered as attempting to subvert the government?”

In August 2001, Huang was tried in a closed court. No verdict or sentence has ever been announced. A government official told Huang’s wife, “After your husband is sentenced, don’t expect your son to go to school or to have any future.”

Corporate Partners in Oppression

The central communist government has willing partners in stomping on people like Huang. Western companies, lured by promises of big contracts, have been eager to obtain contracts in red China in order to help build its great “firewall.”

U.S.-based Cisco Systems and Canadian-based Nortel Networks are working closely with the People’s Armed Police developing oppressive and intrusive computer systems to monitor, track and prosecute illegal Internet web browsers.

Nortel has contracts with Datang Telecom, a Chinese firm that works closely with the Chinese Ministry of State Security. Nortel has provided its “Personal Internet” suite to the MSS, allowing authorities to monitor and track nearly half of China’s individual Internet users.

Nortel is currently working with the communist authorities in Shanghai to build a “Shasta 5000″ firewall. The firewall allows the red thought police to monitor and track subscribers who access Internet web sites judged inappropriate by the communist government.

Western companies are working closely with the red police to track every citizen in China, developing everything from smart-card IDs to phone-tapping equipment. For example, Nortel is currently working with Qinghua University on speech-recognition technology for automated tapping of telephone conversations.

Ironically, Nortel was a strong and early supporter of the U.S. FBI plans to develop a national telephone surveillance system. The Chinese division of Nortel manufactured the first electronic systems accepted by the FBI as the new standard for American phone taps in Guangdong.

Chinese Police Armed With U.S. Equipment

The Chinese People’s Armed Police (PAP) is also well equipped with U.S.-made equipment to track, identify and quickly jail any dissidents. Sun Microsystems has a contract with the Public Security Bureau to make use of instant computer identification of fingerprints.

In 1995, the Clinton administration allowed the PAP to purchase $100 million in Motorola secure radios and cell phones. Documents obtained from the Ron Brown Commerce Department show that in June 1995, then-President Bill Clinton personally OK’d the export of Motorola secure radios and cell phones directly to the PAP with the stroke of his pen on a waiver.

Clearly, the Chinese security police might have some conversations to hide on its Motorola secure radio system. The PAP is the uniformed strong arm of the communist party. It is PAP’s job to enforce the laws of the party, including the execution of dissidents, beating of the Falun Gong and the forced abortion of pregnant women who do not have a license to be pregnant.

In 1998, Harry Wu confirmed that PAP officers are currently equipped with Motorola radios. Wu was arrested and eventually deported from China. Wu reported that he was quickly identified by Chinese security police officers after they checked his records on an American-made computer system.

According to Wu, the Chinese police officials were in real-time contact with the main office’s computers in Beijing, using an American-made satellite uplink. After his arrest, the officers escorted him to prison, taking their orders over American-made secure radios from Motorola.

Human Rights Are an Obstacle

Despite the U.S. assistance, China continues to maintain a false image of a friendly power. In May, during an official visit with bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress, China’s Vice President, Hu Jintao, talked about the importance of open discussions between China and the United States. Hu is the leading candidate to replace current Chinese President Jiang Zemin.

Hu then refused to accept four letters from members of Congress delivered by House Democratic Whip Nancy Pelosi. The letters raised human rights issues and urged China to release political prisoners.

“I had been hopeful that we could at least talk about human rights issues in China and Tibet,” stated Rep. Pelosi.

“But Mr. Hu’s refusal demonstrates how serious the problem remains. China’s human rights abuses continue to be an obstacle in developing the full potential of relations between our two countries.”

Electronic Chains to Enslave

I have news for Rep. Pelosi. The kinds of checks and balances in American justice are not present inside the red Chinese totalitarian state. Congress should consider the sale of advanced surveillance and monitoring technology to China as an obstacle to developing the full potential of relations.

The use of sophisticated U.S. technology to track, monitor and oppress should also serve as a warning here in the United States. There are many here who would willingly trade their freedoms for the shallow veneer of security offered by a police state.

Suggestions such as Smart Card national IDs, micro-chip implants, and intrusive video, telephone and computer taps are just a few modern inventions that even George Orwell never dreamed of. The electronic chains to enslave should neither be made here nor exported to enslave others.

Beijing has much to fear. The U.S. military has warships, airplanes, missiles and computer warriors poised to strike at the Chinese army on command. However, the greatest threat to Beijing is not the American war machine. It is the truth.

How to Hammer Out a Prenup

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the reality show. At least that’s the way it usually works for celebrities, especially when they marry one another. Of course a prenup is usually penned before any public personality says “I do.”

The hullabaloo surrounding the made-for-TV wedding of E! reality show starlet Khloe Kardashian and Los Angeles Lakers’ Lamar Odem calls into question the sanity of any celebrity — no matter how far down the Hollywood food chain — who weds without a prenup.

Despite the bling celebrities bring to the altar in pre-marriage assets, pre-nuptial agreements deal with the millions celebrities stand to earn over the course of the marriage and what each party stands to gain — or lose — should the union crumble. Prenups may get more publicity among high-profile pairs, but they provide much-needed protections for the 40 percent to 50 percent of first marriages that end up coming undone.

Here’s how you can draw up an effective prenup to protect your assets, should you meet and marry your soul mate and it doesn’t end as a match made in heaven but a typical Hollywood ending: divorce.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Lay your cards on the table. Crafting a valid prenup requires both parties to fully disclose their financial situation -– income, investments, assets and debts. Not fully disclosing your financial situation may result in a breach of contract. Both parties must be able to make an informed decision when signing a prenuptial agreement; if one of you keeps an ace up your sleeve making a fully informed decision is impossible.

Madonna’s most recent ex-husband knew her net worth when he said: “I don’t want a penny if this marriage dies.” Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reportedly decided against a prenup, but agreed to keep their finances separate and take their earnings with them should they split, which they did without a fight over finances.

  2. Step 2

Keep it clean. The agreements made in a prenup are enforceable only if the court deems that the terms are reasonably fair to both parties. Obtaining separate legal counsel helps accomplish this and gives each party unemotional, objective legal advice that provides piece of mind.

For example, including the right to perform random drug tests in a prenup may indeed be fair if your partner is a former addict and may be in charge of your children, but if your future ex-spouse has no history of substance abuse demanding random drug tests in your prenup will be less enforceable. The prenup between Nicole Kidman and former cocaine addict Keith Urban specifies that if Urban uses illegal drugs he will not net a penny of Kidman’s $150 million fortune.

  3. Step 3

Avoid the cost of losing big without a prenup by spelling out spousal benefits. If one spouse works and manages to support the other through medical school and on to join a private practice, and it ends in divorce does the spouse that provided the steady support get half of the practice and the doctor’s earnings? State laws differ on this; many states only split the assets acquired in marriage 50/50 after ten years of marriage.

Spell out monetary contributions like retirement benefits and continued health insurance. These details are important to maintaining your standard of living — especially if you’re the spouse working half-time, for lower wages, or raising kids while your spouse advances his or her career. Otherwise you may be left without relevant work experience and less than your fair share should the marriage dissolve under the pressure of a midlife crisis, health issues, downsizing, an empty nest or other factors.

  4. Step 4

Take precautions to protect what you have. If you want to protect your dignity should your spouse stray consider adding a cheating clause to your prenup.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ requirement for Michael Douglas: if he cheats, and she can prove it, Zeta-Jones receives a lump-sum payment of $5 million in addition to the $2.8 million a year in spousal support. Those without six- or seven-figure alimony may still require a modest “bonus” from a cheating spouse in a prenuptial agreement — like demanding he surrender his Harley Davidson or she part with her closet of Channel bags. They may not miss you, but they’ll surely miss their prized possessions.

  5. Step 5

Set a date. Of course you’ll set a date for the wedding well in advance of the ceremony, but you should also set a date by which the prenup must be signed. Legally a prenup signed under duress can be contested in court, if one party feels pressured to sign the prenup because the wedding date is fast approaching then be forewarned that the prenup might not stand up in court. For this reason it is best to make sure the prenup is signed at least a month before the day of the wedding.

Tips and warning about Hammer Out a Prenup

  • A spouse may challenge the validity during divorce proceedings in an effort to get the prenup agreement thrown out by a judge.
  • Beware of the “sunset clause” that eliminates the prenup’s validity should the marriage survive beyond a specified number of years. If Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise make it 11 years their prenup is void and Holmes is entitled to half of Cruise’s fortune, under California law. Former General Electric head lost $150 million when his wife divorced him because a sunset clause voided their prenup after 10 years of marriage
  • The more specific you are about the issues that matter most to you the better. Prenuptial agreements that are overly broad are more likely to be appealed.

How do you budget your money?

Are you a big spender or are you a budget officer? In this time of financial crisis how do you spend your money? Money is an essential factor for the society, it is the one that defines one’s status in life. Budgeting is a careful way of planning on how to spend your money. Different people have different needs and wants therefore different budgets also exists.

I try to spend my money wisely by buying things only when needed. I always allocate almost 50% of my budget for food because it is the most important thing my body needs.

How do you spend or budget your money?

Ricker said:

Im very Frugal even though Im very young and as many say I should still be out spending my money and dont have a care in the world. Ive always been a hard working and not being able to spend my money. I put majority of my money away and am now saving for a house. I just recently bought a new car in cash. I use many ways to budget my money and reduce me from spending my money. I set a list when I go shopping (i.e milk, bread, etc I get anything thats not on that list. I also get the flyers and see whats on sale and what I need. I get coupons for the products that I can which saves a few more dollars. Although Im on a restricted diet I cant use alot of coupons for my food but for other things such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and so on. I match the sales with the coupons and get them free or under a $1. I also reuse things – for example when my butter is empty I use the container for leftovers or such. I always scope out the clearance espectially things as vitamins and cold medication. Stores such as Zellers and WM always have them on clearance but they dont expire for a few years. Since Im in college I dont bring in a lot of money. I cut down on going out, eatting out, and other things like that. I often carpool with my roomates to save on gas.

I give myself so much money a week i.e 20$ including groceries and if I go over I take it off my next weeks groceries and if I go under I add it to the next weeks stash. Its all in your state of mind. I tell myself that I dont have any money to spend so I dont spend my money irresponsible but wisely.

Also, its in the way your raised and how responsible and money smart your parents were/ are. Studies have shown that just like abuse the way your parents managed their money will rub off onto you.

My parents were decent with their money but saved up for items they really wanted. Im the same way with my money. Whereas my friends parents are in huge amounts of debt and spnd their money irresponsible and their kids have no money saved up and are in debt.

You just have to find what works for you.

Good Luck! It can be done. It all depends on how much time and energy you want to put into it.

how to say good night to a person who is living in Usa & you are in Asia

For you its night but for them its morning, with your conversation you want to end up your chat with good night (that means you are feeling sleepy, so going off) but what if its morning for other person living t other corner of ear.

You can answer your question so easily….especially my BF is 8500miles away from me and yet we had the same time but differ in a day….will like this time im in morning and his time is night…when we start and endup our chat he will say to me good morning, hope your day is fine….and what il say to him good evening hope your day is fine too( iwas talking his earlier) and in time of his bedtime just simple good evening and smiley hugs and kissess..:) or if your in cam blow a kiss..:)

we will always have conference call with Canada co-workers in our morning time, and in canada it is their night, when the call is over, I always say “have a good time”, it’s feel very funny, this saying always make us more happier, haha. In fact, maybe we don’t need to worry about that, “good night” and “good morning” also should be OK, i think, it doesn’t matter for your co-worker, and they can understand your meaning very easily.

We usually say to a few people I talk to around the world good night – they realize that we have different times. Also, I will mention Im tired or just come out and say Im going to bed. A lot of people understand that there are different time zones. If your not comfortable saying so bluntly say something like have a good time, good day, or so on. Just reword it to be generic.

How to improve the air quality in a home

Air purifiers are home appliances that remove contaminants from the air. They are a great addition to your home if you suffer from allergies or asthma and are also great at reducing or eliminating second hand tobacco smoke. They also reduce the need for frequent room and area cleaning.

The biggest reason air purifiers are needed in homes is to improve indoor air quality. The Environmental Protection Agency has reported that indoor air pollution levels can be up to 5 times higher than the pollution levels outside. The average American only spends about 10% of their time outside. Common indoor allergens and pollutants include:

- One of the smallest allergen particles, second hand tobacco smoke, is linked to various health issues such as asthma.

- Asthmatic and allergic reactions in people who are allergic to cats and dogs can be caused by animal dander. This allergen is created from dander flakes shed by pets and remains in your home long after a pet has left.

- Each time a door or window is opened, millions of pollen particles enter your home. Pollen is created by trees, flowers and grass.

- Showers, kitchens and basements are breeding grounds for mold and mildew. These plant spores can be found anywhere there is a supply of water and warm, humid climates.

The way air purifiers work is that they draw air from the room with a fan, clean the air and send it back out into the room. There are a few different purification types that air purifiers use to clean the air.

There is adsorption, which uses activated carbon or zeolite to remove chemicals, tobacco smoke and odors. Activated carbon is a porous material that adsorbs volatile chemicals on a molecular basis but does not remove larger particles. Zeolite is a microporous minerals mineral that is also used to adsorb chemicals.

Mechanical filtering is another purification type. This includes HEPA filters which remove 99.97% of 0.3 micrometer particles.

The electrostatic or electronic purification type uses charged plates to give particles a charge of one polarity and a set of collecting grids or plates that have the opposite electronic charge. Air purifiers that use this technology are called ionizers and they produce trace amounts of ozone.

There are also air purifiers that use ultraviolet light (UV) to clean the air. UV light kills microorganisms like bacteria and mold spores. This technology is always used in conjunction with other purification technologies.

One ultraviolet light purification type is ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI). Air that passes UV lamps is sterilized via forced air and microorganisms are broken down. Another is photocatalytic oxidation (PCO). This technology uses short-wave ultraviolet light to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.

The last type of purification technology is an ozone generator. These air purifiers are designed to produce large amounts of ozone. Ozone is a strong oxidant gas which can oxidize many other chemicals and should be used in unoccupied rooms.

How to keep cats and birds in the same household

There are some animals that are instinctively natural predators of other animals. One example of this is cats. They chase mice and other small rodents and they also will chase birds. In the outdoor habitat, the birds can simply fly away and leave the cat wondering what happened to bring the “kill plan” to utter failure. The cat will usually be frustrated in its efforts, although there are some that are quite proficient at bird hunting, and the bird will continue on its flight path.

However, in a house, the bird will not have this same advantage. Homes are not limitless in space and height and even an expert flyer will become flustered and run out of energy after a relatively short time. Another issue is that many people who acquire birds as pets will clip their wings to prevent them from flying away and to assist them in taming the bird so that it will allow them to handle it. While this clipping can be helpful in these ways, it is a death warrant for your feathered friend if you have a cat that comes into contact with it.

There are people who successfully enjoy the company of both birds and cats in the same home. Although it is not usually the safest situation for the bird, due to unforeseen circumstances, it can be done with a lot of planning and precautions taken. Even the most diligent of owners can lose a bird to a cat when something unexpected occurs. For our family, it was a houseguest with a child that didn’t understand the dangers and allowed the cat into the room the bird resided in. This was an awful event for our children to see and it was some time before we were able to try another bird.

However, in time we did get other birds that enjoyed long lives, even with our cat present. For one thing, we chose a different type of bird and a different type of caging. The first bird had been a parakeet that was socialized with people and used to being able to come out of the cage freely in its own room. It lived alone in its cage, no other bird roommates. Our next choice was a breeding pair of doves. These were beautiful birds that had a large home they shared. Although they were friendly with people, they did not crave the human attention that our parakeet had. They were happy with one another’s company and that of their babies.

Cages should be completely locking and not able to be opened by even the craftiest of cats. The bars should be close enough together that the cat can’t get its paws through to swipe at the bird. Even if the bird doesn’t get out of the cage, an over-stressed bird can die easily. Imagine that you had someone constantly trying to get at you. How stressful would that be? Your bird will feel the same way about it.

The cage should be placed high, such as hanging from a hook in the ceiling. Be sure that the hook is secure and strong. Do not place anything underneath the cage or the cat will find ways to climb up close enough to jump and grab onto the bars.

Even a cat that doesn’t seem aggressive generally will have a natural instinct to kill birds. There is no changing that, so your only option is to take precautions that will protect your bird. Your choice of cage and where to place it will make all the difference in the world to your bird. It is a good idea also to be very selective about the breed of bird that you choose. The best bets for homes with cats are birds that do not need a lot of interaction outside of the cage. Buying birds in pairs and getting a large cage will help with this. Cats and birds are natural enemies and that should be a huge consideration when you are deciding if you really want to place the two in the same home.

how do when you fallen asleep traveling in public transports

I used to travel by local trains when i was working in 2006. Though i liked traveling in the local train, i often used to get bored traveling all alone and slowly got the habit of falling asleep. And believe me, i used to wake up when the train used to enter my destination – i was lucky.

But many of my friends and family members warned me of the thefts and other anti-social activities and that i should not be sleeping in a public transport – “people may take advantage thinking you are unconscious!” my aunt said – LOL

I also have the habit of falling asleep when i travel in a bus or car to a far off destination. So, MyLotters, do you have any such experience to share?
