You have your syntax messed up:

YOU POSTED:
add_action (’admin_menu’, ‘mm_add_menu’);

CORRECTED VERSION:
add_action (‘admin_menu’, ‘mm_add_menu’);

You were using ` instead of ‘ and WP doesn’t read the command if you use `.
